Tune in at 10:00 PM ET for coverage of UFC 152: Jones vs. Belfort. Ryan Kelly will be liveblogging the main card for your enjoyment.
Hello and welcome to ScoreMobile's ongoing coverage of the UFC. Tonight we present UFC 152: Jones vs. Belfort
We have five fights on tonight's main card including two title fights -- the main event pitting light heavyweight kingpin Jon Jones against Vitor Belfort and the first ever flyweight championship scrap as Demetrious Johnson and Joseph Benavidez both look to become the first ever 125-pound title holder.
Also on the card is a middleweight fight between Michael Bisping and Brian Stann; a light heavyweight bout between Roger Hollett and Matt Hammil; and an originally scheduled featherweight fight will be a catchweight after Charles Oliveira missed weight by .2 pounds
@Tim Wichers Sorry to hear about the illness, glad you're with us.
@Rich Y He's definitely got a puncher's chance -- he certainly has the power -- the problem in my estimation is how he can neutralize Jones' reach advantage. How does he even get close enough to tag him?
By the way, it's Cub Swanson that Oliveira will square off against.
Also worth noting that Matt Hamill is making his UFC return after initially retiring in August of last year.
@David B I think we could always see an upset. Which fight?
@David B We could, but I don't think we will.
Yves Lavigne is the referee in charge.
Slow pace to start, as both guys try to feel things out. Oliveira cuts off the cage and ends up with a take down, after eating a small left hand.
He tries to advance to half guard, but Swanson pushes him back and gets full guard. Oliveira then goes to some ground and pound -- punches to the body and elbows to the head -- to try and open things up, but Swanson evades and gets back to his feet.
Swanson is mixing up his punches well faking high and then landing low -- a really good one lands to the left side of his body. Oliveira looks hurt and then Swanson cracks him with a big looping right hook and Oliveira IS DOWN.
The punch landed right on Oliveira's left temple, he staggered a bit and then just crumpled.
That was a serious display of power from Cub Swanson.
Official stop comes at 2:40.
Worth mentioning: When Vitor Belfort made his UFC debut, Jon Jones was 9.
@David B I think it was just how he staggered before going down.
@David B Agreed, the optics are kinda weird though. Or at least different from the "normal" knockout.
Dan Miragliotta is the referee in charge.
