Tonight marks the first time the two teams have met since the off season blockbuster that wasn't involving the disgruntled Dany Heatley. Sens fans will get a glimpse of the red hot Dustin Penner first hand.

Ottawa is coming off a crushing defeat at the hands of the Devils and will be hoping for a much better performance with the Oilers in town.

Yea I really dont like the way they've handled Cheechoo thus far. I've said it before but I would like to see him skate a regular shift with Fisher and Alfredsson. Then put Spezza and Kovalev together with Michalek.

Yep just the third start of the season for Deslauriers. Khabibulin has started 15 of the Oilers 17 this season.
by SensChirp at 11/11/2009 12:16:12 AM
Ryan O'Marra was just called up by the Oilers and will dress this evening.
by SensChirp at 11/11/2009 12:17:50 AM
Really dont think so. He didnt really leave here on great terms last time and I cant really see Ottawa wanting to bring him back.
by SensChirp at 11/11/2009 12:18:30 AM
Sure looks like a few guys could be finding their way out of Carolina though. They have had an awful start to the season and might have to consider moving a few veteran contracts.
by SensChirp at 11/11/2009 12:19:40 AM
The Oilers hold a 12-8-4-1 record against the Senators all time. Edmonton has struggled against Ottawa as of late though posting a 1-5-1-1 mark since 2002.
by SensChirp at 11/11/2009 12:23:55 AM
Oilers have really had trouble scoring as of late. They've been blanked 3 times in their last 8 games and have scored a total of 15 goals over that stretch.
by SensChirp at 11/11/2009 12:25:13 AM
Yea Edmonton has been ravaged by injuries as of late. Hemsky, Souray, Nilsson, Horcoff and Stone are all out of the line up right now.
by SensChirp at 11/11/2009 12:26:33 AM
Staying out of the box will definitely be a key for Ottawa. They have had some serious discipline issues as of late and will need to make sure they address that if they are gonna come out on top tonight.
