TONIGHT! Two teams who have completely rehauled the look of their clubs will go head to head in the season opener.
The Montreal Canadiens have moved past their former leadership and look for the new blend of small, feisty and talented forwards in Mike Cammalleri and Brian Gionta to lead the rush with Scott Gomez while adding grit in Paul Mara, Jaroslav Spacek and Hal Gill on the back end to defend Carey Price.
The Toronto Maple Leafs have retooled their hockey club to fit the Brian Burke form. Building from the net out, Mike Komisarek, Francois Beauchemin and Garnett Exelby will be more than their physical selves tonight, while Viktor Stalberg, Jason Blake, Nik Hagman and Mikhail Grabovski look to help the Leafs in collective scoring to win the games on the score board while the defense wins the battle in front of the net.
2 Teams, 1 Division, 1 Goal - Make the Playoffs.
It All Starts Tonight @7:00 PM EST. It's been a long summer, do not make it longer by missing this game!
I think that Bob Gainey's moves will either be the best thing since 1993 that's ever happened for the Canadiens, or the worst. Judging by the pre-season, it seems to be the former.
That's certainly the matchup between the two. Ron Wilson has called for the Leafs to win the game by all four lines scoring. The Habs, on the other hand, seem to have two solid top lines to do the damage on the scoreboard.
I'll see you all tonight at 7:00.
ARE YOU READY FOR SOME HOCKEY?!
It's time for your Pre-Game Predictions.
@ Brent: Ryan MacIntyre will have you covered on that one tonight following the game.
There absolutely is a double header tonight.
Thanks Steve, it's great to be back doing this again with all of you.
It absolutely is, Shago. lol
We're set for the National Anthems.
No, last year the Leafs opened against the Red Wings, Kulemin scoring the game winner for the Leafs.
lol CBC still has that terrible intro. Sounds like the Smurfs are about to do battle.
