Be forewarned: with Doughty and now Voynov locked down, #Kings now have two of the best young D-men in the NHL for years to come
Logan Couture's contract extension with SJS is 5 years at $6 million per year. Can't be signed til July 5. Makes $2.875M next season.
Not sure if this says anything about the Phoenix ownership saga, but the Coyotes have now re-signed their GM, assistant GM and AHL coaches
Quenneville says Hossa is likely to play game 4. Won't specify injury. @aaronward_nhl reported last night he believes it's neck related.
Quenneville just said that Hossa is ``likely to play tomorrow night.''
Battle for Knight's rights came down to CGY and EDM. The High River, Alta., native opted for the Flames over the Oilers. Plays centre.
Not clear yet whether Corban Knight becomes UFA on July 1st or 5th but won't matter - agreed to terms on 2-yr entry level deal with CGY.
Logan Couture's extension in San Jose is for five years, FYI
Belated congrats to @MikeMcKenzie11 on his contract extension with @OHLRangers, also @dtroysmith. I know who's buying at Bauer Kitchen now.
Datsyuk's three-year extension with Detroit carries at $7.5 M cap hit
As per @intheoradio Kingston signs Lawson Crouse. Big kid looked great at OHL Cup this year - that Frontenacs core is shaping up real nice
Hot List still on hiatus (no one is playing), but I have some exciting new draft stuff coming soon. Code Names: "The Dump" and "The 120."
I don't believe Logan Couture's new extension will be for max 8 years. Hearing more like 5 or 6 years.
Just perimeter stuff for the Hawks offensively.
Toews out with Sharp and Stalberg now
Toews working his *** off tonight. But too many passengers on his team right now
And it's 2-0 Bruins, Bergeron finishes off Jagr feed
Not sure about that call. But it's a big one. 5 on 3 for 11 seconds
Bolland goes to the box for cross-checking Kelly.
Great pass from Seabrook to Kane but 88 waits way too long
Guessing Toews and Kane find each on same line at some point tonight. Quenneville's fail safe when backed in a corner
Newly formed third line remains on fire for Bruins. Great forecheck produces turnover which leads to Paille goal
Paille does it again, 1-0 Bruins
Bruins go 17 and 5 in the dot in opening period (77 percent)
Bruins were on fire early, Hawks settled down. Turned out to be pretty evenly played opening period. Shots 11-10 Bruins
That was the best worst power play ever
Hawks have survived opening half of period, which was key. Settled down now
Another ineffective Hawks PP. Entries remain an issue, stationary once inside.
Daugavins hit Shaw in the head on that check. Going to the box
Chara just returned to the benvh
Toews with Frolik/Kruger, thought that would only last for opening faceoff. Not so.
Crawford solid early. He needs to be. Predictably the Bruins have come out like gorillas out of a cage (thanks Bryz forever for that)
Julien said this morning he was contemplating possible changes for 4th line but in the end sticks with same: Daugavins-Peverley-Thornton
Saad-Handzus-Kane on this shift. Guessing that means Sharp replaces Hossa on Toews line then
Talk about adversity for the Hawks with No Hossa. Ayoye
Humid day in Boston today. Wonder how the ice will hold up. NHL ice guru Dan Craig has been in the rink most of the day
Important note: Streit has agreed to all details of 4 yr, $21 mil contract. However, it won't be signed until Flyers have enough cap space.
Streit's agreement will also include a limited no-trade. He would submit a list of teams he would be willing to move to.
Goes without saying but will say it anyway (again): PHI will use its two compliance buyouts on Briere and Bryzgalov.
The Streit signing sends a strong message both Briere and Bryzgalov will be bought out.
Streit is 4 years at $5.25 mil per. Confirmed. (No seagulls).
"@DarrenDreger: Told Streit deal with Flyers is 4 years, $5.25 mil per."//Wowza.
Told Streit deal with Flyers is 4 years, $5.25 mil per.
Streit is a 35 and over contract so even if he quits/retires, he will continue to count against PHI cap for the duration of the contract.
