Tune in at 1:00 PM ET as the Redskins take on the Steelers. Michael Dugan will be liveblogging for your enjoyment.
Welcome to NFL football. The Washington Redskins v the Pittsburgh Steelers
For both teams, their heart and soul is their quaterback and those quarterbacks will need to make some plays today
The Redskins rely on the wild talents of Copperas Cove alum, Robert Griffin. Griffin is incredibly elusive and can make plays with his legs and arms. He has an intelligence and maturity beyond his years
The Steelers will be looking to 2 timeSuperbowl champion Ben Roethlisberger. He is big and strong and is an expert and extending plays
Washington #5 in total offense. Pittsburgh #2 in total defense
Pittsburgh #11 in total offense, Washington #29 in defense
Steelers are coming out in their atrocious throwback unis. Football gods are not happy about that
I will be referring to the Steelers as the Bumble Bees...Egad that is brutal
Pitt opens at their own 24
Dwyer fights off the penetration and picks up a nice hard 5 yards up the middle, to the 29
from the shotgun Roethlisberger fakes the screen and hits Miller on a little wheel route, pick up of 25
Dwyer again crashes the middle for 4, 2nd and 6
Out of the shotgun a quick hitter to wallace, first down
Wallace gets another quick hitter but Kerrigan on the spot, 2nd and 7 from the 31
Roethlisberger rolls right and off the hands of Miller, almost INT. 3rd and 7
@m33 remember the Eagles when they when baby blue and canary yellow? how about those brown and yellow bronco unis?
Sanders with a reception gets afirst down to the 21
Roethlisberger again with a quick release to wallace, 1st and goal at the 5
Dwyer through the 2 hole picks up 3 to the 2yd line, 2nd down
quick to miller out right, just shy of the goal line, 3rd down
dwyer hit in the backfield, looks like he is just short 4th down
great play fake for the TD, 6-0 Pitt
12 plays and 76 yds, Bumble Bees lead 7-0
I know Roethlisberger is not a fan of the dink and dunk but that was a really nice series. No pressure in his face at all and his receivers are really good playmakers. Like it!
@jj 1934 throwbacks. Brutal!!
Roethlisberger 7/8 for 65yds 1 TD
