Tune in at 8:20 PM ET as the Ravens take on the Steelers. Gino Bottero will be liveblogging for your enjoyment.
Welcome everyone! I'll be live blogging tonight's game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Baltimore Ravens.
Let's get right to the injuries. Ray Rice, Torrey Smith, Rashard Mendenhall, and Ryan Clark are all ACTIVE.
Notable inactives for the Ravens include cornerback Jimmy Smith and guard Bobbie Williams.
Notable inactives for the Steelers include quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, wide receiver Antonio Brown, and safety Troy Polamalu.
The Steelers ruled out Ben Roethlisberger on Wednesday. Roethlisberger left the team's Monday night game against Kansas City in the third quarter after getting sacked by Tamba Hali and Justin Houston. He suffered two separate injuries on the play - a sprained SC joint, and a rib injury that doctors have described as being 'rare and dangerous.'
Ben Roethlisberger has missed 13 games since making his first start for the Steelers. The team is 0-4 in those games against the Ravens, and 8-1 against everyone else.
Byron Leftwich has lost six consecutive starts, the second-longest active streak in the NFL. This will be his first start as a member of the Steelers.
On Monday night, Leftwich completed 7 of 14 passes for 73 yards in relief of Roethlisberger.
Pittsburgh has won four straight since a 2-3 start to the season. They are 14-1 in their last 15 home games.
In four road starts this season, Joe Flacco has compiled a 62.7 quarterback rating. Pittsburgh has allowed an average of 12.3 points per game at home this season.
The Steelers are wearing their throwback jerseys once again.
The Steelers are hoping to have him back for their next meeting in Baltimore, which takes place in two weeks. Some reports have come out in the last 24 hours that doctors likely won't give Ben the go-ahead to return to action for 3 weeks. The sternoclavicular sprain Roethlisberger suffered is the same injury that ended Brett Favre's ironman streak at 297 consecutive games played. However, it sounds like the greater concern is the rib injury he suffered.
They're about ready to begin in Pittsburgh. The Ravens won the toss and have elected to defer to the second half. Pittsburgh will receive the opening kickoff.
15:00 No return on the kick. Byron Leftwich and the Pittsburgh offense will begin their first drive of the game from their own 20.
14:51 FLAG - Leftwich airs the ball out on the first play of the game, going deep down the left side for Mike Wallace, and Williams had to grab a hold of Wallace to keep pace.
The pass interference call moves the Steelers up to the BAL 38. That was a 42-yard penalty.
14:45 An end-around gains 7 yards up the right side.
14:17 TOUCHDOWN - Leftwich rolled right to escape from the pressure, ran up the right sideline, broke a tackle, and was gone, getting into the endzone for the score.
