Tune in at 8:20 PM ET as the Giants take on the Panthers. Gino Bottero will be liveblogging for your enjoyment.
Welcome everyone! I'll be live blogging tonight's game between the Carolina Panthers and New York Giants.
You can peg tonight's game as the 'Injury Bowl.' Here's a rundown of the key players who will miss tonight's game:
If you haven't heard yet, Jonathan Stewart is INACTIVE tonight with toe and ankle ailments. His fantasy owners should take evasive action immediately. Also out for the Panthers are starting right tackle Byron Bell and linebacker Thomas Davis who is out with a hamstring strain, unrelated to his three ACL injuries.
The Giants will be without Hakeem Nicks (foot) and Ahmad Bradshaw (neck) tonight. Expect increased roles for Ramses Barden and Andre Brown in their place. Right tackle David Diehl and No. 3 receiver Domenik Hixon are out as well, but the Giants do get back Prince Amukamara, who missed the first two weeks of the season with an ankle injury.
Andre Brown is an intriguing fantasy start this week in place of Ahmad Bradshaw. Carolina's defense gave up 293 rushing yards in their first two games. Ramses Barden is a very deep sleeper for those desperate for help at wide receiver.
Each team avoided 0-2 starts to the season with wins last week. Cam Newton threw for 253 yards and ran for 71 more in Carolina's 35-27 win over New Orleans, while Eli Manning threw for a whopping 510 yards to lead the Giants to a 41-34 come from behind win over the Bucs.
The Panthers are playing their third game in 11 days.
A tribute and moment of silence at Bank of America Stadium for Steve Sabol right now. His impact on how we view the game will never be forgotten.
Good to hear. I was nearly screwed by Antonio Gates last week so I definitely know the feeling.
Only one baseball game on the schedule tonight and it's the Rangers and Angels at 10:05 PM ET. It will be blogged by Maxwell Hubert, a notorious Yankee-lover, if that helps.
But the Jets own the back pages...
Eli with a big lead in the poll at the top of the page, but if rushing yards were included, I suspect things would be a little closer.
I suspect we won't be finding out that this Eli is blind once this game is over...
We're moments away from kickoff. New York won the toss and they will rexeive.
I'd recommend you check out the blog later tonight. I'm sure Mr. Hubert will field any Yankee questions or comments you may have.
15:00 The game is underway and Carolina's kick stays in the endzone. Eli and the offense will begin at their own 20.
14:55 Eli goes right to Victor Cruz to the right and he gains a dozen.
Hopefully this blog fills that void.
13:42 FLAG - Eli hits Barden over the middle for a gain of 8, then Brown ran off the left edge for a 1st down, but a flag is down.
An offside penalty bumps up the Giants and gives them their 1st down.
They've lost some key players over the last few days.
13:05 Eli was ybder pressure and made a bad pass on 1st. On 2nd, Andre Brown bounced off a tackler at the line and gained 31 up the right sideline.
