Tune in at 8:00 PM ET as the Spurs take on the Heat. James Herbert will be liveblogging for your enjoyment.
So, this game isn't exactly what we were expecting. The Spurs sent Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili, Tony Parker and Danny Green back to San Antonio to get some rest.
Kind of a bummer, would've liked to see both teams at full strength here.
The Heat are 10-3 and have won their last four games. The Spurs are 13-3 and have won five in a row.
@m33 ...I wish. Hah. I am excited about hearing Barkley commentate this thing.
David Stern issued a statement saying what the Spurs did was unacceptable and that "substantial sanctions" would be forthcoming. Wow.
@Southtx I think the Heat win by double figures.
@m33 Scroll down a little and you'll see. But I'll repeat here: the Spurs decided to rest Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili and Danny Green tonight. They sent all of them home.
Here's the statement from David Stern: "I apologize to all NBA fans. This was an unacceptable decision by the San Antonio Spurs and substantial sanctions will be forthcoming."
@Oilers Oh there won't be any mercy here.
It's an interesting precedent with Stern saying he'll punish them. I don't know how that works.
I mean, Popovich could have kept them with the team, kept them active and just played eight guys. I don't see how the NBA could stop that.
Ugh, sorry if you bet on this thing.
So, the Spurs starters will now be as follows: Nando De Colo, Patty Mills, Boris Diaw, Matt Bonner, Tiago Splitter
Heat starters: Mario Chalmers, Dwyane Wade, LeBron James, Rashard Lewis, Chris Bosh
Charles Barkley is on #TeamPop.
Bosh open on the right side, pump fakes against Splitter, drives and airballs a jumper over Bonner.
The ball goes out of bounds, though, and it's Heat ball.
Wade in the post against De Colo, he misses off the glass.
De Colo with a sweet pass to Splitter, Splitter puts it in off the glass. Spurs up 2-0.
Imagine if the Spurs won this game.
James open for a three, it's money.
