Portland captured its first season series over Houston since 2002-03 (3-1) by taking two of three games from the Rockets last year.
The home team had won eight consecutive games in the series before Portland’s 103-100 victory in Houston on Jan. 9 last season. The win also marked Portland’s first at the Toyota Center in the last seven tries, dating back to April 6, 2007.
The Rockets have defeated the Trail Blazers in 20 of the last 28 regular season meet¬ings, including 12 of the last 14 games in Houston. Portland has won four of the last five matchups at the Rose Garden.
The Rockets lost the battle of the boards 37-48 at Minnesota (2/4/12) and 40-47 at Denver (2/6/12). It was just the first time this season Houston has been outrebounded in consecutive games.
