Do you remember what you were doing on November 10 2004? If you are a Raptor Fan you were likely watching the Raptors beat the Jazz in Utah led by Chris Bosh with 20 and Vince Carter with 16. Remember those guys? Deron Williams has never lost to the Raptors and Jazz have won 10 straight in this series. So needless to say The Jazz are a safe bet to win.
Welcome everyone to the Score.com and Score Mobile Live Blog of the NBA and the Toronto Raptors vs the Utah Jazz. I am James Borbath your play by play slash host for the evening.
You could not have 2 different stories for teams heading into this one.
The Jazz got their first win of the season taking care of the OKC Thunder on the Thunder's home floor and winning in a major way.
The Raptors started like they would do the same to Kings coming out on fire in the first. But the Raptors fire would slow die as did their lead and they feel to the Kings.
Mainly because The Score is based in Toronto and we draw a good audience for our Raptor games.
Against the Jazz let's just hope Raps are in the game come the 4th Quarter.
Against Utah? Not sure I agree the Raps have never been a great team at defending the pick and roll and the Jazz are one of the best at in the league. You beat a team 10 times in a row there is something to that.
Funny I tweeted that to Reggie today. I have had the chance to talk with Reggie on several occasions covering the Raps for the Dino Nation Blog and I am probably one of the happiest people for his early season success.
The injury he went through last year was extremely hard for him and he is a really competitive guy so it is hard not to be happy for and root for Reggie.
Another person I like as person is Demar DeRozan and he tied his career high vs Kings in his first visit of the season to his home state.
Raptors surprisingly are ranked in the top third of league in both points allowed and defence. Two areas that most experts saw them struggling with heading into the season.
All the warm and fuzzy feelings about the Raptors aside The Jazz really seemed to get on track vs the Thunder Deron Williams in that game had 16 points and 15 dimes.
Al Jefferson has filled the shoes of Carlos Boozer nicely and Paul Millsap is a heck of a talent as well.
Jazz have gone to a retro look this season and I got to say I am a fan of it.
Yup and I watched that game cause the Thunder are my surprise pick to win the NBA Title. So I was impressed by the Jazz.
This is not a Bud Commercial...WASSSSSSUUPPPPP!!! #Dated Reference.
Nope the Jazz shut them down.
Not a gambler so you tell me what it is and I will tell you what I think.
Were you watching in 2004 cause as I mentioned off the top that is last time the Raptors won here.
Tough call cause the Raptors have been scrappy but this is clearly their toughest test of the season. If a gun was to my head I would say take Utah minus the points.
Think my last comment covered that but hope I am wrong.
Shaq? If you saw his costume from Halloween you get that joke.
No problem I personally would avoid the Raps early in terms of betting.
Not sure anyone knows what to make of them yet.
So a battle of teams with 1-2 records but very different expectations .
Jerry Sloan is still coaching the Jazz and is the longest serving coach not just in basketball but all pro sports.
So that being said tip time in Salt Lake City.
Jazz win the tip and a quick turnover.
