Tune in at 8:00 PM ET for coverage of the Sprint Unlimited. Scott Johnson will be liveblogging for your enjoyment.
What's going on everybody, and welcome to another season of NASCAR. If this is your first time here, my name is Scott Johnson, and I'll be with you for the season. If you've been here before, welcome back, really excited to get this season underway.
I'm gonna try my hardest to get all the names right, but please excuse me if I mix up Logano/Kenseth, or any of the other switches.
Green flag is set for 8:29pm tonight.
For those running into problems with Raceview on the NASCAR site, they are currently working on it.
So tonight's schedule: Invocation at around 8:10pm, Anthem at 8:11, engines fires at 8:18 and green flag at 8:29pm.
@jamesjammz: Glad to be with y'all for another season.
@jean9: Hey Jean, welcome back once again, great talking with you on Twitter during the Super Bowl. Never answered you back, but I was rooting for the Ravens. Tonight I have Kyle Busch.
@jean9: It is cold for a Daytona night. 50 degrees right now.
FYI: Clint Bowyer and Brad Keselowski are NOT in tonight's race because of eligibility rules. Had to have won a pole last season or won a past shootout.
When the green flag drops, Biffle and Kahne will be on the front row.
Dale Jr. is the all-time lap leader in the Sprint Unlimited (129 laps)
Engines have been fired in Daytona, let's get this race started.
Tonight's race will be broken up into 3 segments: 30 laps, 25 laps, and 20 laps.
Carl Edwards and Mark Martin were supposed to start at the front of the grid, but they wrecked in practice yesterday, so they're going to the back. Kahne and Biffle up front.
Truex will also be dropping to the back of the field because they're in backups.
Cars out on track, green flag in about 4 mins
@alklein: We weren't really informed about that. it's been a shitshow.
@jean9: We weren't informed. The communication this week has been shitty.
We are green in Daytona, let's see this pack racing.
1/75 laps (Segment 1): Drafting is going well, so far, Kahne pushing Biffle up front
2/75 laps (Segment 1): At the end of this segment, it'll be a four tire change for all cars, I repeat, 4 tires.
