I don't think that anyone can sensibly predict the outcome of this year's fall classic. The Giants have been on a great run over these last few weeks, coming back in both the division series and the championship series. The Tigers, on the other hand, were no where in sight of the playoffs - let alone the World Series - mid way through the year and have come back to prove that they belong here. -

Not many prognosticators (yours truly included) predicted that the Giants offense would be anything to write about, aside from Posey, but as a team they have been fantastic in the postseason. No one would have thought that Verlander would get lit up in game one and only pitch 4 innings. But alas, the series sits at 1-0 for the Giants. -

Tonight's pitching match up is also very intriguing. Doug Fister has been fantastic this post season going 2-0 with an ERA under 2.00. Common sense would state that this is Fister's game to lose, since his counterpart, Madison Bumgarner has been atrocious in the postseason giving up 10 ER in 8IP. -

Offensively the Tigers were very disappointing IMO last night. They didn't let the game come to them, as they, and were much to eager against a pitcher like Zito who has to finesse his way around the plate. By the numbers the Tigers have a much more potent offense. Let's see if they can get back on the right track tonight. -

Following up on one of my earlier points, I don't think the Tigers are having very good ABs right now. Jackson did well to work the count full, but watched strike three to start the game. Infante followed that up with a three pitch K where he swung way out of the strike zone for the final strike. Miguel is only Tiger right now that is having, what I consider to be, good at bats. -
