Last night the Phillies gave up 10 consecutive runs to lose to the Tampa Rays 10-4. For the month the Phils are 9-12 (last season they were 12-14 in June).
by mopupduty at 6/26/2009 10:56:52 PM
The Phillies are only 4-11 vs the AL this season, including a three game sweep vs the Toronto Blue Jays.
by mopupduty at 6/26/2009 10:57:01 PM
Jimmy Rollins is not in the lineup tonight. Super-utility man Eric Bruntlett takes his place
by mopupduty at 6/26/2009 10:57:38 PM
The Phillies are rolling with three catchers right now, using Chris Coste in the DH spot

Starting for the Jays is Ricky Romero
by mopupduty at 6/26/2009 11:01:33 PM
Jays starter Ricky Romero had troubles with the following hitters in his previous start vs the Phils:
Rollins 2 for 4 with a double
Utley 2 for 3 with a walk and a K
Victorino 1 for 2 with a walk
Werth 1 for 3 with a home run
Despite this he allowed only three runs over seven innings, including nine strikeouts (three of Ryan Howard). Romero has not allowed four runs in a start since May 31st.

Predictions for tonight?
by mopupduty at 6/26/2009 11:07:09 PM
Really?
by mopupduty at 6/26/2009 11:07:34 PM
Tonight looks to be an infomercial for the jays auction
by mopupduty at 6/26/2009 11:08:01 PM
Romero has a 2.96 ERA over his past four starts. HR have hurt Ricky, as only 7 of his ER have come from non-HR. The Jays are 5-4 when Ricky takes the mound.
by mopupduty at 6/26/2009 11:08:11 PM
Here we go, Romero and his 1.20 GB/FB ratio is just about to throw the first pitch. Baby blues for throwback friday
by mopupduty at 6/26/2009 11:08:41 PM
Victorino up, 1 for 2 vs Ricky (with a walk)
by mopupduty at 6/26/2009 11:08:54 PM
First pitch is ball one. Thankfully no fake umps
by mopupduty at 6/26/2009 11:09:16 PM
2-1 to Victorino. Barajas behind the dish again,, he has to be getting tired
by mopupduty at 6/26/2009 11:09:49 PM
Good
by mopupduty at 6/26/2009 11:09:54 PM
Strike three, change in the dirt. One out
by mopupduty at 6/26/2009 11:10:23 PM
Utley up, 2 for 3 vs Ricky in career
by mopupduty at 6/26/2009 11:10:47 PM
92 MPH fastball to start things off
by mopupduty at 6/26/2009 11:11:00 PM
Utley with a great .430 OBP
by mopupduty at 6/26/2009 11:11:07 PM
3-0 to Chase. Werth on deck
by mopupduty at 6/26/2009 11:11:34 PM
Werth hit a HR vs Ricky in Philly
by mopupduty at 6/26/2009 11:11:44 PM
Gift of a strike, count now 3-1
by mopupduty at 6/26/2009 11:11:57 PM
Another questionable strike, liking this ump so far. Full count
by mopupduty at 6/26/2009 11:12:19 PM
Foul.
by mopupduty at 6/26/2009 11:12:30 PM
Romero threw 118 pitches last time out when the bullpen was depleted. I'd assume he's on a pretty strict pitch count tonight
by mopupduty at 6/26/2009 11:13:04 PM
Romero battles back from 3-0 to force a groundout to 1st. Two down, Jason Werth (former Jay) is stepping into the batters box
by mopupduty at 6/26/2009 11:13:40 PM
One AJ Burnett start costs more in salary than a full season of Romero
by mopupduty at 6/26/2009 11:14:19 PM
Those pitches were balls, low and then a nice inside frame job by Rod
by mopupduty at 6/26/2009 11:14:40 PM
2-2 to Werth
by mopupduty at 6/26/2009 11:14:50 PM
Werth groundout to Rolen over at 1st, inning over
by mopupduty at 6/26/2009 11:15:04 PM
We'll agree to disagree
