This is the final game in a 3-game series and the teams have split the first 2 games. The Yankees won 7-5 on Tuesday night and the Jays won the series opener 5-4 on Monday.
What do you think, Jays fans, is Romero the real deal? So far, he looks like a legit No. 2 starter.
A.J. has been pitching particularly well lately. He's 6-2 with a 2.32 ERA over his last 10 starts.
Burnett is 1-1 with a 4.34 ERA against the Jays this season.
The Jays are attempting to be the first team to win a series at Yankee Stadium since Washington took two of three June 16-18.
Romero has had a rough time of it recently. He has given up four runs in four of his last five outings, with a 5.65 ERA.
RickRo notched a win over the Yanks on July 6th, allowing 3 runs over 6 1/3 innings.
We can only hope, Callum. By the way, Callum will be liveblogging Cubs-Phillies on theScore.com tonight at 8pm.
Scutaro steps up to the plate as the game begins.
Scutaro flies out to Hinske in right for the first out of the ballgame
Burnett's pitches are moving well today.
A.J. is hitting 96MPH on the gun. He's going to be tough to hit.
Hill watches strike three and there are 2 outs.
Looks like the ump has a big strike zone today, so the Jays had better start letting their bats go.
Lind hits a dribbler up the middle and he's on base with the first hit of the game.
Posada lets a pitch get by him and Lind takes second base.
It's scored as a wild pitch.
Burnett leads the AL in wild pitches with 15.
And he just walked Overbay to put runners on first and second with Vernon Wells up to bat.
V-Dub goes down swinging (of course). Man, does he suck.
Joe Posnanski blogged about the worst contracts in baseball yesterday. He put B.J. Ryan at 11th-worst, Alex Rios at 7th-worst and Vernon Wells as the worst. Ladies and gentlemen, how about a hand for the general manager of your Toronto Blue Jays... J.P. Ricciardi!
Jeets steps in against Romero to start the bottom of the 1st.
Jeter is hitting .432 against lefties this season. That's a little bit ridiculous.
Ruh-roh, a Romero pitch just hit the top of Jeter's right foot and he's limping to first.
Johnny "Geico caveman" Damon steps to the plate.
Don't think so. He's still on the field.
Damon rips a double down the right field line, Jeter limps to third base.
Matsui flies out to shallow left field for the first out, and the runners hold.
