Oleh Blokhin has named an unchanged side heading into Ukraine’s second match of Group D against France. Led by Andriy Shevchenko’s two goals, the co-hosts couldn’t have asked for a better start to the tournament, as they dispatched Sweden 2-1 in front of a raucous crowd in Kyiv.
Their opponents on Matchday two are a young French side who need a victory after drawing 1-1 with England in their first match of the group stages. Laurent Blanc decides to go with a more youthful lineup, as both Evra and Malouda make way for Clichy and Menez in the French starting XI.
All eyes will again be on the Ukraine this evening, but more specifically Shevchenko, as he looks to further cement his legacy after scoring two goals against Sweden.
Can the French get their first win in Group D? Or will Shevchenko be the star again?
