Everton looks to continue their hot start to the season. The club has earned 15 points in their first 8 matches. South African midfielder Steven Pienaar is forced to watch this game from stands today, having been red-carded in the 1-1 draw with QPR last Sunday.
Liverpool are looking to get on a roll now after a poor start to the season (9 points in 8 matches). The club has picked up two wins in their previous three Premier League clashes, including a 1-0 home win over Reading in their last outing. The big injury concern for Liverpool is the fitness of goalkeeper Pepe Reina. The Spaniard will not start a third consecutive game with a hamstring strain.
Notes: From the previous 218 encounters between the two clubs, Liverpool hold the upper hand with 88 wins to Everton's 66. There have also been 64 draws.
Liverpool starting 11: Jones, Wisdom, Skrtel, Agger, Jose Enrique, Fernandez Saez, Sahin, Gerrard, Allen, Sterling, Suarez.

Everton starting 11: Howard, Coleman, Jagielka, Distin, Baines, Naismith, Osman, Neville, Mirallas, Fellaini, Jelavic.

We are just a few minutes away from kick-off
Everton in blue, Liverpool in red
1 min: An early chance for Everton right from the opening kick-off. Jelavic finds himself behind the Liverpool defense and swings one in that is headed out for a corner from Enrique
1 min: On the counter attack, Enrique has a big gap to play Sterling through but he takes one too many touches and gives it away.
2 min: Liverpool with a good spell of early possession. Everton not giving much time and space to Liverpool, but Liverpool looking composed on the ball early on.
3 min: Long spell of possession results in a corner. Gerrard to take it.
4 min: Gerrard hits a corner too deep and over everybody but Sahin is able to track it down. Sahin then with a poor delivery floats the ball over the net for a goal kick.
5 min: Suarez tries to beat Jagielka but he is defended well. Ball bounces back out to Suso and his near post cross is handled easily by Howard.
6 min: Fellaini looks to get behind Enrique but Enrique does well to win the one on one battle and wins a throw in for Liverpool.
7 min: Everton has looked to attack down the right side at Enrique a lot here in the first 7 minutes.
8 min: Suarez with pressure on Howard's first touch. Howard with a poor ball, right back to Liverpool in possession.
9 min: Brilliant run from Mirallas showing his pace, goes past three Liverpool defenders, his cross is then blocked and out for a corner.
10 min: Off of the corner Jones does well to come out strong and gets a fist on the ball and out for another corner.
10 min: This corner goes to the back post and an off balanced Jelavic has his header go off target.
11 min: Suarez and Sahin work a great one-two but in the end Suarez is well offside.
12 min: Naismith with a sloppy touch almost gives it away to Gerrard at midfield but he recovers well.
13 min: Everton attack down the right side again, Enrique up to the task
14 min: Suarez with very high pressure on the Everton defenders, causing some havoc at the moment. Everton look a little disorganized coming out of the back
Enrique drills it in front from the left side of the box, Suarez meets it at the back post and unleashes a rocket which goes off of Baines and into the net.
A very unfortunate own goal from Baines, had no chance to react quickly enough to avoid that result.
16 min: Everton looking to equalize attacking down the right, but Agger is there to clean up the mess and win the ball back for Liverpool.
